Dear Diary,

This battle has been going on for 38 nights, and with each passing night, the darkness grows longer. I fear that my soldiers are beginning to become unbound to the land, as they do not know whether they are swinging at the dark or the Nothingness. There’s little hope of us finding our footing on how far we are pushing back the Nothingness, if at all.

It feels as if we are forsaken since Lumina left us to go recharge and search for Magnus. With the soldiers growing exhausted, he had to return to the closest town to gather his strength. Soldiers who cannot foresee the end of battle stop wishing and settle into the calm of imminent death. His counterpart has disappeared without a note to state that the reasoning of his departure. Without their combined light, we have little way of seeing through the Nothingness. Lumina’s power is unimaginably potent, but not as abundant as that of Magnus.

I believe the Governance has been sending me missives through my dreams, but I do not what they are directing me toward. I have learned much about Lumina and Magnus through these rich imaginings, and some things I wonder if they themselves know. I have been seeking counsel with the camp’s Remedy to try and find meaning. Her only wisdom on the matter is that I need to search for the strength in my soldiers to slay the Nothingness.

I fear that I must find the meaning soon as we are beginning to receive fewer supply runs from Centrumial. Either they are fortifying as they do not expect our success, or we’ve lost an ally to the Nothingness. I do not believe our enemy is able to split off from its source in the mountain. It seems to creep and push forward in one direction, never able to break off from that line.

Night is making its way to our border, so I must rally the soldiers. I pray to the Governance that I’m able to find the strength these dreams speak of. Maybe then I will be able to shut the Nothingness back in its mountain home.

Yours Truly,

Cordolia
